macOS requires your explicit permission before any app or browser can share your screen. If you weren’t prompted for this permission when you first tried to share your screen in a Coresee room — or if you dismissed the prompt by mistake — you can grant it at any time from System Settings.
Applies to both the browser and the desktop app. Whether you join Coresee rooms through a web browser or the Coresee desktop application, macOS manages screen sharing permission the same way — through Screen Recording settings.
1

Open System Settings

Click the Apple logo in the top left-hand corner of your screen, then select System Settings
2

Go to Privacy & Security

3

Open Screen & System Audio Recording

4

Turn on the toggle for your browser and the Coresee app

5

Confirm the change if prompted

macOS may ask you to confirm the update — enter your password or Touch ID if requested. You may also be asked to Quit & Reopen the app or browser.
Once the toggles are switched on, make sure the change takes full effect before trying to share your screen again.
  • If macOS prompted you to Quit & Reopen, close the browser or the Coresee app completely and relaunch it.
  • Rejoin your Coresee room and try sharing your screen again — you should now see the screen-share picker without any permission errors.
