Coresee runs entirely in your browser — there’s nothing to install to join a room. Because video, audio, and screen sharing all depend on capabilities built into the browser itself, Coresee checks your browser when you open a room and will let you know if something’s missing.
For the best experience — including camera and microphone previews, screen sharing, and audio device selection — use the latest version of a supported browser and keep it up to date. Older or less common browsers may not have the features Coresee needs and won’t be able to join a room.
Always use the latest version. Coresee relies on current web standards for real-time video and audio. Running an outdated version of a supported browser can produce the same errors as using an unsupported one — check for browser updates if you run into trouble joining.
Other ways to join
If you’d rather not join through a browser tab, Coresee also offers a desktop application.
Coresee desktop app
The desktop app is a standalone application for Windows and macOS. It supports the same core meeting experience as the browser, plus a few desktop-only capabilities such as native screen-share pickers and, where applicable, NDI/SDI capture-card workflows. If you’re on a supported browser, joining from a browser tab and joining from the desktop app both work equally well — use whichever is more convenient.
Mobile
On phones and tablets, join using Safari (iOS/iPadOS) or Chrome (Android). The in-room experience adapts automatically to a smaller screen — some controls move into an overflow menu to keep the layout usable.
If your browser isn’t supported
Coresee checks browser compatibility as soon as you try to open a room.
This means the browser you’re using is missing a capability Coresee needs to run a video session — most commonly because it’s an unsupported browser entirely, or a very old version of one. The room won’t open until you switch.
To resolve it:
- Switch to one of the supported browsers listed above.
- If you’re already using a supported browser, update it to the latest version and try again.
- If you’re on a work or managed device, an older forced browser version may be the cause — check with your IT team.
Troubleshooting
A few other things worth checking if a room isn’t behaving as expected.
Camera or microphone not showing up
This is usually a permissions issue rather than a browser-support issue — the browser is blocking Coresee’s access to your devices. See the camera and microphone permissions article for how to check and reset those settings for your browser.
Everything looks fine but audio/video won’t connect
Some corporate or school networks restrict the kind of real-time connections Coresee uses. If you’re on a supported, up-to-date browser and still can’t connect, try a different network (like personal hotspot) to confirm whether the network is the cause before assuming it’s a browser problem.
Still stuck? Contact your host or reach out to Coresee support with the browser name and version you’re using — that’s the fastest way for us to identify what’s going wrong.
