# Manage Participants
Hosts and Co-Hosts can manage individual participants directly from the **Participants** tab in the **Side Panel**.
Available actions depend on the participant's role, permissions, and whether they are currently present in the session.
## **The Participant List**
By default, participants are listed in the order they were added to the room.
Role isn't used to group or sort the list — instead, each Host or Co-Host's role label is displayed next to their name/email, right in their row, so you can spot them at a glance without the list being reorganized around them.
Full control over the room, including every option in this article.
Same permissions as a Host, with one exception: a Co-Host cannot remove or demote the Host.

## **View Filter**
The View Filter narrows the participant list down to those matching a specific state. The active filter is marked with a checkmark, and the participant count updates alongside your selection.
* **All Participants** — the default view. Every participant is shown, regardless of their current state.
* **Present** — shows only participants who are currently in the room.
* **Absent** — shows only participants who are invited but not actively present in the room.
* **Camera On** — shows only participants whose camera is currently active.
* **Microphone On** — shows only participants whose microphone is currently active.
* **Hidden** — shows only participants currently hidden from the room.
* **Hand Raised** — shows only participants who currently have their hand raised.
## **Search**
Search lets you jump straight to a specific participant in a large room.
## **Participant Management Menu**
Open the menu beside a participant's name to access the available management options.
Give another participant Host-level room management permissions. A Co-Host can assist with managing participants and the session, but cannot remove or demote the Host.
You can demote a co-host by clicking \*\*Make Participant. \*\*
You can change a participant's position in the list — and their tile position in the room layout — at any time.
* **Drag and drop** — click and drag a participant's row to a new position in the list.
* **Move to Top** / **Move to Bottom** — available from the Participant Management Menu, these jump a participant straight to the first or last position.
Reordering updates the position for everyone in the room, not just your own view.
Hosts and Co-Hosts can either **turn off** a participant's microphone or **disable** their ability to use it.
* **Turn Off Microphone** immediately mutes the participant. They can turn their microphone back on themselves afterward.
* **Disable Microphone** prevents the participant from using their microphone. They cannot unmute themselves until a Host or Co-Host enables it again. When microphone access is enabled again, it returns to its previous state:
* If the microphone was on when it was disabled, it turns back on.
* If the microphone was off when it was disabled, it remains off.
Use **Turn Off Microphone** when you only want to mute someone temporarily. Use **Disable Microphone** when you do not want the participant to be able to unmute themselves.
Hosts and Co-Hosts can either **turn off** a participant's camera or **disable** their ability to use it.
* **Turn Off Camera** immediately stops the participant's video. They can turn their camera back on themselves afterward.
* **Disable Camera** prevents the participant from using their camera. They cannot turn it back on until a Host or Co-Host enables it again. When camera access is enabled again:
* If the camera was on when it was disabled, it turns back on.
* If the camera was off when it was disabled, it remains off.
Use **Turn Off Camera** when you only want to stop their video temporarily. Use **Disable Camera** when you do not want the participant to be able to turn their camera back on.
Use **Hide** to remove a participant from the visible and audible room layout without disconnecting them from the session.
A hidden participant:
* Remains connected to the session.
* Can continue watching and hearing the room.
* Is not seen or heard by visible participants.
* Can continue interacting through Chat.
Select **Show** to return the participant visible in the room.
Select **Remove** to disconnect a participant from the active session and from the Participant list.You will be asked to confirm before they are removed.
### Quick Icons
Next to each participant who is currently present, you'll see a row of quick icons: a microphone icon, a camera icon, an eye icon, and a Private Chat icon. Each one doubles as a button, so you can act on it directly without opening the Participant Management Menu.
* The **microphone icon** shows the participant's current mic status. If their mic is on, clicking the icon turns it off — the same as selecting Turn Off Microphone.
* The **camera icon** shows the participant's current camera status. If their camera is on, clicking the icon turns it off — the same as selecting Turn Off Camera.
* The **eye icon** shows the participant's current visibility status. Clicking it hides or unhides the participant.
* The **Private Chat icon** opens a direct conversation with that participant.
**These icons only appear for participants who are present in the session**, and only reflect and control their current state — not their permission to re-enable it. To prevent a participant from turning their own mic or camera back on, use Disable Microphone / Disable Camera from the Participant Management Menu instead.
