# User Roles and Permissions

Every person in a Coresee room has a role. Your role — combined with whether you have a Coresee account — determines what you can see and do.

    <Card title="Host">
      The room's owner. Full control of the Side Panel, participants, and settings. Exactly one per room.
    </Card>

    <Card title="Participant">
      A simple attendee with a Coresee account. If they're promoted to co-host, co-host rules apply instead.
    </Card>

    <Card title="Co-Host">
      A participant promoted by the host. Nearly all host capabilities. Any number of co-hosts are allowed.
    </Card>

    <Card title="Guest">
      Anyone in the room without a Coresee account, using a session nickname. Can also be promoted to co-host.
