There are a few ways to enter a Coresee room. Which one applies to you depends on whether you have a Coresee account and how the room has been shared with you. If you have a Coresee account, all your rooms — and rooms you've been added to — appear on the homepage. Select the room and click the **Join** button. Every room has a unique meeting link that the host can share with anyone. Opening the link takes you directly to that room's entry point. You don't need a Coresee account to use a room link — you can join as a guest by entering a display name. However, if the room has Login Required turned on, you will need to sign in before you can enter. When dial-in is enabled for a room, participants can join by calling in from a phone. The host can share the dial-in number and passcode alongside the link. Dial-in participants are audio-only and appear in the participant list. ## **What happens at the entry point** When you go to enter a room, what you see depends on how the room is configured. If the room has no special access controls enabled, you go straight in as soon as you open the link or click Join from the homepage. The session starts (or you join a session already in progress) immediately. Public If the room also has Host Control Admission enabled, you'll be placed in a lobby once the host is present. The host sees your name in their participant panel and can admit or deny you individually. You can't enter until the host admits you. If multiple people are waiting, the host can admit everyone at once or handle each person one at a time. Host Required Host Control Admit If the room has Host Required enabled, the session cannot begin until the host enters. You'll see a message at the lobby. Once the host joins, the session starts and you enter automatically. Host Required If the room has Login Required enabled, you must have a Coresee account and be signed in to enter. Guests — people without an account — cannot join this room at all. If you arrive via meeting link and aren't signed in, you'll be redirected to the Coresee sign-in page before you can proceed. Login Required ## **Room settings that affect entry** These are the room-level settings that determine what happens when someone tries to join. They're set by the host and apply to every session in that room. ### **Host Required** When on, the session will not begin until the host enters. All other participants — whether they've arrived before the host or not — wait on a holding screen. The session starts automatically for everyone once the host joins. When off, any participant can start the session by entering first. ### **Host Control Admission** When on, every participant is placed in a lobby and must be individually admitted by the host before they can enter the session. This setting requires Host Required to also be on — you can't use a lobby without the host being present to manage it. The host sees each person waiting and can admit or deny them one at a time, or in bulk. ### **Login Required** When on, only people with a Coresee account can enter. Guests who arrive via meeting link without an account will be redirected to sign in. This is useful for private or internal sessions where you want to ensure all participants are identifiable. **These settings are controlled by the host.** If you're a participant and you're having trouble entering, you'll need to contact the host — only they can change these settings. ## **Common scenarios** Here's what to expect in the most typical situations. The room appears on your homepage. Select it, then click Join. Depending on the room's settings, you'll either join immediately, wait for the host, or wait in the lobby. Open the link and enter a display name when prompted. You'll join as a guest. If the room has Login Required on, you won't be able to enter — you'll need to sign up for a Coresee account or ask the host to turn that setting off. If the room has Host Required on, you'll see a waiting screen. Stay on the page — the session will start automatically once the host enters. If Host Required is off, you can start the session yourself and the host can join whenever they're ready. The room has Host Control Admission on. The host needs to admit you. Your name is visible to them in their participant panel — let them know you're waiting (via external message if needed) and they'll admit you. ## **Once you're inside** When you enter a room, a few things happen automatically depending on the room's settings. ### **Microphone** If the room has Users Enter Muted on, your microphone will be off when you join. You can turn it on yourself at any time — the host cannot force it back on. ### **Visibility** If the room has Enter Room Hidden on, you'll join as a hidden participant. Hidden participants are neither seen nor heard by others. You can only interact via chat until the host makes you visible. This is a room-level default set by the host — it's not something you can change yourself on entry. ### **Your role** Your role in the room — host, co-host, or participant — is set by the host and determines what you can do once you're in. Co-hosts have additional controls over participants, recording, and streaming. ## **If you can't get in?** Here are the most common reasons entry is blocked and what to do about each one. The room has Login Required on. You need a Coresee account to enter. Sign in if you have one, or ask the host to share access another way. If Host Required is on and the host hasn't arrived yet, the session won't start. Check whether the meeting time is correct and contact the host directly if they're overdue. The host may not have seen your request. Contact them through another channel to let them know you're waiting in the lobby.
