# Player Controls & Playback Settings

Each file in a room has its own Settings panel, controlling how that asset behaves when it's presented. These settings are per-file and can be toggled independently.

## **Getting to the settings**

Double-click any file to open its asset detail page. The detail page is divided into three sections: **File Info** (metadata), **Annotations** (video files only), and **Settings** — where playback settings live.

  If the file isn't currently presented in the room, the detail page shows a local preview visible only to you — it isn't shared with other participants.

### Playback Settings

<Card title="Auto-active" horizontal>
  When enabled, the video is presented to the room automatically as soon as it starts playing. When it finishes, it removes itself from the stage automatically.

<Card title="Active" horizontal>
  Presents the asset to the room immediately when toggled on. Use this to push the file to all participants' views on demand.

<Card title="Loop" horizontal>
  When enabled, the file plays on repeat until manually stopped.

<Card title="Global Mute" horizontal>
  Mutes the audio of the file for all participants when it is presented. Participants cannot turn the audio back on themselves while Global Mute is active.

<Card title="Auto-mute room" horizontal>
  Automatically mutes participants while the video is playing.

<Card title="Whiteboard Overlay" horizontal>
  Controls whether the drawing toolbar is available to participants when the file is presented. When on, participants can draw annotations over the asset in real time.

<Card title="Media Toolbar" horizontal>
  When a file is presented, hovering over it shows an on-screen toolbar with controls such as layout switching and stopping the presentation. This setting determines whether that toolbar appears on hover.

<Card title="Title" horizontal>
  When on, the file's name is displayed as an overlay on the asset while it is presented in the room.

<Card title="Aspect Ratio" horizontal>
  Sets the display ratio of the asset when presented (e.g. 16:9, 4:3, 1:1). Choose the ratio that best matches the file's content.

<Card title="Playback Speed" horizontal>
  Adjusts the playback speed of the video.
