# Set up a vMix Source for an Event

This article explains how to send a vMix stream to a Coresee Event. vMix pushes its output to your event over RTMP, using the RTMP URL and Channel ID shown on the event's page, and the stream then appears in the Live Broadcast section of your event preview.

## **Before you begin**

Make sure you have the following ready.

* A Coresee Event, with access to its event page.
* A vMix project open on the computer you'll stream from.
* A network connection with enough sustained upload bandwidth for a 3 Mbps video stream.

## **Setup steps**

Copy the connection details from your event, enter them in vMix's streaming settings, then start the stream.

**1. Copy your RTMP URL and Channel ID**

Go to your event's page. In the left-hand side, under **Event Streams**, copy the \*\*RTMP URL \*\*and the **Channel ID**.

**2. Open vMix's Streaming Settings**

Inside your vMix project, click the **cog** next to the **Stream** button on the bottom bar.

**3. Enter your Coresee connection details**

Select \*\*Custom RTMP Server \*\*as the **Destination**, then fill in the fields as follows.

| **vMix field** | **Enter** |
| :- | :- |
| URL | The \*\*RTMP URL \*\*from step 1 |
| Stream Name or Key | The \*\*Channel ID \*\*from step 1 |

**4. Choose the stream quality**

Select **H264 1080p 3mbps AAC 128kbps** as the stream quality.

**5. Start the Stream**

Start your stream from inside the Streaming Settings page, or by clicking the \*\*Stream \*\*button on the bottom bar.

## **Troubleshooting**

A few things to check if your stream doesn't appear in the Live Broadcast preview.

> [accordion] Nothing appears in Live Broadcast
>
> Confirm the stream is actually started in vMix, and that the RTMP URL and Channel ID in vMix exactly match the values shown under Event Streams on your event page.

> [accordion] Stream is choppy or drops
>
> Confirm your network has enough sustained upload bandwidth for the 3 Mbps stream quality selected
